Historic Space.
Modern Studio Amenities.
318 McDermot Ave. is known as the Ames Holden McCready Building. Constructed in Winnipeg's Historic Exchange District in 1914, it was once a major wholesale boot and shoe firm.
A century ago, goods moved out of the building by horse and carriage. The Exchange District was once the centre of trade and industry. Today, it's become a hub for Winnipeg's artists, filmmakers, and creators who continue to build what's next.
Our studio reflects that history while embracing modern amenities and a video-centric layout.
Designed as a black and white, controlled light space, it offers a timeless canvas where light, shadow, and texture do the work. Clean white walls bring clarity. Deep black walls create contrast and mood. Wooden features add warmth and architectural character, making the space well suited for interviews, branded content, product work, and cinematic portraiture.
High ceilings and controlled lighting make the studio naturally video friendly, allowing for consistent results throughout the day. Curated props are available, with paper or cloth backdrops including green screen available by request. A small kitchenette is on site for coffee breaks, food styling prep, or keeping crews comfortable during longer shoots. Our black and white studio is ready for your next project!
